Balanced comfort in a prime location

The hotel offers good value with a convenient downtown location near beaches and nightlife. Guests appreciate friendly staff and decent amenities, but some noise and room inconsistencies should be expected.

Guests often praise

  • Convenient location within walking distance to restaurants, bars, the beach, and public transport.
  • Friendly and accommodating staff who provide smooth check-in experiences.
  • Cleanliness throughout the property and well-maintained public areas.
  • Air conditioning and free bottled water on each floor appreciated, especially in warm weather.
  • Family-friendly pool and rooftop terrace with sun loungers enhance the stay.

Worth knowing

  • Rooms tend to be small with firm, sometimes uncomfortable beds; a travel mattress may help light sleepers.
  • Street noise can be noticeable, especially in rooms facing the busier street; earplugs recommended.
  • Room assignments can vary from the reservation, with occasional delays for room changes.
  • Water pressure in showers can be inconsistent, and heavy rain may cause minor balcony leaks.
  • No parking, airport shuttle, or fitness center available; Wi-Fi quality is fair but generally adequate for work VPNs.

I booked for myself and a friend for 10 nights in February 2022. Was extremely cheap so I knew it wasn't going to be fancy. I usually book more expensive places but wanted to stay longer & price was a factor. For those on a budget that want to be within walking distance to everything it is a good option. The Good: 1. Check in was smooth & friendly. Our room door had been broken somehow on arrival and the lock did not work but they sent a guy to come replace it. Staff were all pleasant & relaxed. No issues. 2. The room was quite large, decent balcony with some old charm. A/c worked well, huge closet with safe, mini fridge, small desk / vanity area. Bathroom was in the middle so the beds were nicely separated on either side for a bit more privacy. 3. Great location as everything is walking distance. Restaurants, clubs, beach, shopping. 4. Cute little pool in the courtyard & some upper floor sundecks. I didn't use the pool but saw some kids playing there in the afternoon & some adults in the evening occasionally. Never looked that busy. The Bad: 1. Wifi was poor. My friend had video chat meetings & the wifi had insufficient speed and was spotty. He had to go elsewhere to do his work. I purchased a local sim card with a data plan for cheap and that worked fine for me. 2. Our room & balcony faced the street. This area is busy at night so you hear loud music from neighbouring clubs very late. Early morning, large trucks start coming down the bumpy street & it is very loud. I would usually party til 4 or 5am but that seems to be when the clubs close and the trucks start rolling in. Calms down around 9-10am. IF you have difficulty sleeping this room would be a nightmare. I can sleep through anything and I thought it was noisy. Got my best sleep between 9am & 1pm then head out for the day. I think they had rooms with windows facing the courtyard as well. These rooms are likely quieter from truck traffic early mornings. 3. Bedding & mattresses are not great but were clean & the maids came daily to tidy up. 4. Shower: water pressure lacking & sometimes not enough hot water but it worked. Overall, I think it is a great option if you're not too picky and on a budget. For what I paid, it worked well for me. Was nice to have a fridge for fruit & drinks & coffee maker to get my day started. Lots of open space & never felt crowded in the room. Can come & go freely as its very central. Not a big ordeal to go back to the room from most places as I was usually within walking distance to the hotel. My friend however could not deal with the noise & wifi situation and got a room elsewhere after a few nights so he could work. He would definitely give fewer stars in a review. We both ended up with keys for two hotel options so that worked out great for me :)

It is a nice place with a friendly staff. The price is low and you get a better place than what you pay for. As it is in any place at this price point you hear road noise. The rooms are air conditioned, which is nice when you really need it. The beds are firm but better than most. The location is great! Easy access to the bus. Nice safe area with lots of great food and drink options. I have had a great stay.

It is a great location. It is close to a lot of restaurants and the beach. It has a small pool that is family friendly. The pool is less busy in the morning than afternoon and evening. It is on a little bit busier street so you may hear more traffic than some, but it is convent for catching a taxi. The only real complaint we had was the water pressure in the shower was not good at all. We did have some water come in through the balcony on one night when there was very heavy rain, but I am not counting it against them based on how heavy the rain was and that it did not happen when it rained on other days. We were there for 8 nights so we were able to experience it well. The location and convenience is the best part and why I would recommend it.

My overall review is this hotel is an excellent option if you are travelling on a budget. Great location, easy walking distance to everything. Staff were friendly and accommodating. When I arrived check in was a breeze but when I went to my room it was not the room I reserved and paid for (I booked a standard double bed with AC and a balcony and was put in a room with no balcony and 2 single beds, but it did have AC) so I returned to the desk. At that time I was told they didn’t have a room that I had reserved but could move me the next day. I am puzzled why they wouldn’t have my room since I booked it and they obviously knew I was coming, and the only small strike is that I wasn’t told that when I checked in. Having said that, this isn’t the first time that happened to me when I arrived to my hotel in PV. The good news is they kept their word and I was moved to the correct room the next morning and was satisfied with my room. As a budget traveller to PV I’ve learned that their bed standard is not great and regrettably the bed was not good. But again, not the first time this has happened. I’d recommend investing in a travel pad if you’re prone to back discomfort like me. I plan to buy one after this trip to be ready. Not getting quality sleep while on vacation is not restful. Also if you have a street facing room best bring ear plugs. The noise issue isn’t exclusive to this hotel so I’d say that as a general statement when in the romantic zone. Ear plugs really do help. The shower in my room was outstanding. I have never had a stay in PV prior where I had a hot shower with ample water pressure every single time! Lots of water refill stations throughout the building. Nice not to have to buy bottles of water all the time. 2 nice patio areas for use and a small pool.

The staff are so nice Not all speak English but everyone tries and is lovely. It’s more of a locals hotel, but it’s a good price for what you get. Very clean! Just ok wifi. Can get loud at night, but if you’re staying in that area you are likely there to have fun and party. Very close to the good gay bars and a short walk to the beach. The AC is amazing! I enjoyed my stay and would recommend to those on a budget or someone who is booking last minute for sure. Management was very kind and helpful.

Small rooms and hard beds, but what do you expect? It's beautiful and a fantastic location as well as reasonably priced. So many stairs, so be warned if you are on the 4th floor. It is not easy as a human with a huge suitcase full of normal things.

If you are looking for a great value then Hacienda is perfect! The entire city lost water yesterday but Hacienda has a backup supply and every floor has free, cold bottle water. Internet service in PV is never great but work VPN from the shared areas is fast and reliable so I never have to worry about getting connected for work. We booked a room for 4 people that was huge and could have easily hosted 9 of us. The TVs have English channels so I could watch CSI every night. The room has a cold refrigerator, warm pool, working TV, good shower, hot water, extra towels and easy access to everything. We were worried but this was a really great choice. We will stay here again.

Not bad at all for the price you pay. They have all kinds of rooms in different sizes. We got the triple room which has a queen and a single bed, a flat screen TV, AC, a balcony overlooking the street. All in all not too bad US$30+ a night. Here's what I really liked, the place is spotless clean, they have free water which is great so you're not constantly thinking about that, they have free coffee too. The location is great, just a few blocks down and you're on the beach. What I'm not too crazy about but was not much of an issue: the pool is tiny and cold, the rooms on the street can be noisy from street traffic so if you don't like that ask for an inside facing room. I would stay here again.
